The Hephzibah Rebels enter the 2018 season with some holes to fill on both sides of the football. Coach William Harrell is in his 3rdseason at Hephzibah and is holding his rebels to a high standard. Coach Harrell was honored as the Region Coach of the Year in 2017. This year, the Rebels drop down two classifications, but there are still some question marks for the Rebels. The West Laurens Raiders advanced to the second round of the state tournament last season. As a matter of fact, the Raiders have qualified for the state tournament for 4 straight seasons. However, Coach McClain knows that each new season brings its own set of challenges. The Discovery Titans are still a program in it’s infancy stage. The Titans will be playing only their 3rdyear of varsity football. Coach Lee Belknap leads the McIntosh Chiefs into the 2018 season after qualifying for the state tournament for the 2ndtime in 5 years. In order to duplicate the same success, the Chiefs will need to find a replacement for First-Team All Region RB Bradley Ector. The Chiefs do welcome back First-Team All Region and Air Force signee QB Dane Kinamon.Tune in as Coach Belknap gives his assessment of his team and perhaps the best place to get a burger and wings down in Peachtree City.

Coach Troy Hoff begins his 4thseason as the head coach of the Eastside Eagles. Coach Hoff has led the Eagles to the post season in consecutive seasons. However, to get back to the post season, the Eagles will need to address some of their biggest challenges. Last season, Coach John Bowen led the Montgomery County Eagles to their first playoff appearance in 14 years and their highest win total in 28 years. Coach Bowen talked to us about some of the challenges this year’s Eagles will face.
“In a small school, depth is always a concern and this year at MCHS will be a classic example of this’” he said, “The Eagles will have to find ways to rotate players enough to create some depth along the OL and offensive backfield. The Eagles must also break in a new QB to take over from the graduation of the school's all time passing leader, Kris Daniels.”

The Starr’s Mill Panthers advanced to the 3rd round of the State Playoffs last season before falling to eventual State Champion, Rome. Coach Phillips had a veteran team last season. So it’s no surprise that Coach Phillips said, “Replacing all the veteran skill players from a 2 time region champion team”, is one of the biggest challenges for the Panthers this season. Coach Phillips talks to us about the upcoming season and how the Panthers are preparing for this season not only on the field but also in the community.
